Travelers can now use an iPhone to reserve car service.
The Hudson Group today announced the ability for their transportation provider clients to receive reservations via travelers booking on their iPhone. People no longer need to be in front of a desktop or laptop computer in order to make their airport transportation reservations.
The new web-based application is available today, at no additional charge, as part of a suite of reservation services, and has been specifically designed for use on the popular iPhone, as well as the web enabled iPod Touch and soon to be released iPad; all developed by Apple, with millions of devices having been sold around the world.

The iPhone application is another step forward in this direction.”
The iPhone product is a web-based application that can be launched and run on an iPhone, or iPod Touch that has Internet connectivity. The application displays locations, vehicle types and fare options for the traveler, pulling all this information in real-time from the transportation company’s web reservation system, also provided by The Hudson Group. By following the intuitive and simple screens, travelers “touch” their way quickly through the one way or round-trip airport reservation process. Upon completion, an email confirmation is sent to the traveler’s preferred email address. The travel details are downloaded immediately and simultaneously into the transportation company’s reservation and dispatch system.

Upon hearing of the new reservation functionality on the iPhone Faeth remarked emphatically, “I like it!
